MP3: Greenship - Perfect Smile / Place To Hide

As you might have guessed, information and pictures for this band have been kind of hard to find. I did think of putting up a picture of The Indafels, the new band fronted by Greenship singer Bnann, but then I realised that they're a bit rubbish. So anyway this was as far as I know the first and only release from Greenship, who were apparently caught up in the post-Britpop signing mania but then failed to release anything. This debut single came out on the now defunct Camp Fabulous back in the hazy days of June 1998 as a CD with a limited edition of 500. I don't honestly remember them, but as I said before the singer, Bnann, is now the vocalist for The Infadels, and has also ghost written for a number of dance acts. He's also half of Sumsonic Records' Darko & Bnann. Lovely. For what's its worth these songs are pretty great, very late nineties but definitely some potential there, so its a shame Bnann's new band sound so different. But to gain myself some good karma, feel free to check out their website or myspace page. Enjoy.

I was going to post that exact same post with the exact same sentiments, Greenship were an excellent live band in the late 90s and were a bit early with that whole Buckleyesque thing that caught on maybe a couple of years later.
Oh well...............

Have you ever seen the Infadels live?
I'm guessing not. It's the only way I can forgive such an ill-informed comment.

If Bnaan, Herb, Tricks or Jonni actually get to read this, there are still Greenship fans who would like to hear some of the old stuff, even if it's just rehearsal room recordings/bootlegs - get it done, people!
;-p
