Meanwhile i'm going insane trying to write an essay on the Kenyan cultural nationalist Ngugi wa' Thiong'o. That's why i'm typing. To avoid going back to work on it. Help me. Time. is. slipping. away.



That's not me by the way. The only good thing is that i've got the new Twilight Singers record to listen to whilst I do it, which is really rather good, though not as much of an improvement over their others as some people have been saying.

Come to think of it, it seems like the last month has really seen a big deluge of really great records. I had been thinking that 2006 really wasn't living up the high standards set by 2005, but recent releases from Scott Walker, the Twilights, Liars, Destroyer, Matmos, Neil Young, Neko Case, Aphex Twin seem to be turning the tide...

This is also good. Lovely Mr Cutler, soothe my mind. And back to Ngugi...
