MP3: And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead - 2002 Peel Session

Wow it's really posts a go-go today. Trail Of Dead sound so damn good on a hot summer's day, and indeed, in little old England it is amazingly still hot. Very hot. So here's some summery musical good things to brighten up your day even more.

This Peel Session was recorded in April 2002 and was the third that the band had recorded for the show. This was two months after the band had released their stunning third album Source Tags and Codes, which is also the home to three of the songs here (Morning Stoner, Boudelaire and Homage). The session also includes a lovely version of Richter Scale Madness from the band's first, self-titled album, and begins with the piano intro Invocation, which was actually at the beginning of the first pressings of the Source Tags album, but for some reason was subsequently removed. Very odd.

This is a totally great session and I honestly can't wait for the bands next album and some UK tour dates. It ain't summer without a little bit of The Trail Of Dead. Enjoy.

Spot on for this heatwave.
The Black Angels have been the most apt music so far, but Trail Of Dead certainly come close.
Thanks for the session!
