Video: Husker Du - New Day Rising live, Makes No Sense At All and Don't Wanna Know If You Are Lonely
If anyone tells you there was ever a cooler band of gay heroin addicts than Husker Du, you have my permission to kick their foolish ass. Here are three lovely Husker vids to lighten up this wonderful day. First up are two live songs: The Girl Who Lives On Heaven Hill and I Apologise, two of the band's greatest songs ever, and both taken from their 1985 classic New Day Rising, one of the most influential alt-rock records ever and rather fantastic sounding on vinyl. It was the followup to their legendary double album Zen Arcade, also an essential album if ever i've heard one. Next up is the video for Makes No Sense At All, a single from the band's album Flip Your Wig, also released in 1985, and which was the last record they released on the independent SST. Finally there's the video for Don't Wanna Know If You Are Loenly, taken from 1986's Candy Apple Grey, their first album for Warner Bros, and another unmissable record.
By the way all you Pulp fans make sure you check back tomorrow, when I'll have a super exclusive and very much unheard band authorised remix of a Pulp classic that was never released...it's definitely worth coming back for, fickle public!
