MP3: Jarvis Cocker - Certain People Are Still Ruling The World

This picture makes Jarvis looks the sort of person who would get unreasonably annoyed. As if he was a creator of misery and destruction. The truth however is that every drop of musical juice that he drips causes untold amounts of happiness throughout the land. Today, the rather odd spectacle that is Jarvis' new myspace acts as host to the first song from his new solo album, the first since the split of Pulp, and, as a character from the Beano might say, it's a corker. Hearing a new song from Jarvis is a bit like an old friend coming back from a long holiday, and in this case, it's a particularly sweary and angry friend. The song is inspired by the fact that Live 8 had absolutely no visible effect, and Jarvis is clearly on top form. Personally I can't wait to hear some more songs from the album.
