MP3: Michael Wookey - Come On To My Place

Four nights ago I saw another fantastic gig from the quite wonderful Michael Wookey Band, and afterwards they gave out a free cd featuring this new recording of Come On To My Place. Michael Wookey is a singer/songwriter based in the Southampton and Bournemouth area with a rather great blend of Radiohead/Eels/Daniel Johnston/Sparklehorsey indie rock, and is highly recommended for those who haven't heard or seen him yet. As I stated in an earlier post, the band recently won a battle of the bands in Bournemouth which has gained them a place on the lineup of the upcoming Bournemouth festival. They're also playing this summer's Larmer Tree festival in Dorset, and a support slot for The Fall in September. Mike has also started another musical project called Treacle which can be heard over at myspace. Enjoy.
