MP3: Liars - Peel Session 2002
I know I know i'm awful. Impromptu day trip to Winchester today, thus the Holy Bible post will DEFINITELY be tomorrow. Until then I thought you might like to hear another Liars Peel Session, the first of the two they did for the program (I posted the second one a while back, how confusing of me).
It was recorded in April 2002 about 5 months after the band had released their first LP, 2001's They Threw Us All in a Trench and Stuck a Monument on Top. Two songs are from that album, the wonderful Loose Nuts On The Veladrome and Mr. Your On Fire Mr.. There's one song from the band's 2002 Fins to Make Us More Fish-Like EP, namely The Pillars Were Hollow And Filled With Candy, So We Tore Them Down. Finally, and here's the nice thing about this session, are to early Liars songs that have never been recorded for one of their releases. Catchy Like Brains On Gangs and We're Still Young Enough To Lay Face Down In Front Of The Speakers were both mainstays of the bands first few tours, and Catchy in particular was regarded at the time as one of the best things the band had done to date.
Again, my apologies for being so disorganised. Enjoy.

Oooh thanks for these.
Loving the Liars.
Have you heard that there is supposed to be a Peel Sessions compilation on its way.
I forget where I heard about it though.
yup. lots of new peel session things coming apparently. rumour has it a 2cd pulp compilation will be out soonish...plus a gene compilation. see nme.com
I believe they've done some sort of deal with Sanctuary for all this stuff - I know there's a box of the complete Wedding Present sessions in the offing.
Hello i was wondering would there be anyway other way of getting these mp3's seeing as theyre now defunct?
Any help would be much obliged.
Where did you post the second session?
