Comeback Central: Maximo Park - Our Velocity

Hoorah! Maximo Park are back. They've got a new single, a new record, and a tour that sold out far too quickly for me to be able to get a ticket. Most of that is good news. A Certain Trigger slowly but surely emerged as one of my favourite records from the recent brit-post-punk-revival shindig, and its great to see that they're going to be more than one/two hit wonders. Indeed their Reading performance last autumn gained pretty massive crowds, and they do in fact seem like the sort of band to really inspire a solid, loyal audience. Anyway so the new record is going to be called Our Earthly Pleasures, and won't be out until April 2nd, and the lead single (and as far as I know the only fruit of this albums sessions yet to be heard outside of live performances) is the quite utterly ace Our Velocity. This radio rip is muddy as fuck, and very slightly incomplete, but it gives you a very good idea of what the new record is gonna sound like, and omits the Zane Lowe commentary that I suspect caused people to lop off the beginning and end. In all respects: a result. Enjoy.
