Peel Session: Broadcast (2003)

Broadcast are a 60s influenced mostly analogue based electronic group from Birmingham, and since 1997 they've released five albums, the most recent of which was 2006's The Future Crayon. Sometimes a five piece but mostly a four piece, at the moment their lineup has been pared down to vocalist Trish Keenan and bassist James Cargill. Their music is influenced by 60s groups like The United States Of America and Silver Jews, but a more recent comparison might be the retro-isms of Stereolab. They always have been and still remain on Warp Records. This was their fifth and last appearance on Peel, was recorded on the 24th July 2003 and broadcasted on the 19th August that same year. It hails from the period in which the group were touting their excellent third LP, Haha Sound. Enjoy.
