New Artist Alert: Hannah Dudley

Being a fellow Southamptonite, i've had the pleasure of seeing Hannah Dudley singing at one of the more popular open-mic nights around here a number of times now. Mixing the influence of more classic female singer/songwriters (Joni Mitchell, Carole King, etc) with some more modern alt/country influences (Neko Case being a more recent influence), her voice is extremely pure and her songwriting seems to be developing more all the time. It's definitely refreshing to hear someone at an open mic night that can not only sing (and extremely well), but who also doesn't settle for covering Alanis Morisette (thank God). Her recordings are very very homemade, but I think you can hear the talent shining through the lo-finess. Enjoy!
