Myriad Creatures (+ bonus Neil Young)

First up is a track from Myriad Creatures, a Berlin based four-piece who originally came from London but moved abroad perhaps to gain themselves a bit of Lou/Beatles/Cave chic. The Hero is their first release on London's Jackalope label, and is rather a nice bit of post-punk infused 60s pastiche which goes in about five directions at once and makes a fair go of all of them. Reminds me somewhat of Mystery Jets, but maybe a little more serious and art-conscious. It also makes me think of the 90s. Don't ask me why. Curious stuff.

Myriad Creatures - The Hero

Next up are a few tracks pilfered from elsewhere, but so good that I felt no shame in reposting them. They were in fact part of one of the best articles that Stylus have publshed for aaaages. Written by Phil Dellio, Purple Words On A Grey Background is an exhaustive rundown of Neil Young cover versions, the downloadable highlights of which were the following two tracks, which are both bizarre and in their own way quite brilliant. Enjoy!

Devo - Ohio
Boney M - Heart Of Gold

I think the comments thread was more fun than the article, frankly! Glad you dig the Devo track.
