Other than the Dead Kennedys, my choice for the most obviously fantastic band on Jello Biafra's Alternative Tentacles label are none other than Canada's Nomeansno. For 28 years now their half insane half incredibly intelligent mixture of punk, metal and funk (and 20 other things) has been showing myriad younger bands exactly how genre mixing and intelligent composition should be done, and all that while rocking harder, being funnier and being wittier than just about all of their peers. However possibly due to the fact that they've never split up, or due to the often out of print status of much of their discography, they've probably never received the more widespread critical or commercial acclaim they should have. But here we are, they're still around, they're still recording, they're still playing live and they're still one of the best live bands around. Here's your chance (if you've forgotten, ignored or just never heard of them) to check yo'self and correct yo'self.
